Dallas-based Producers Midstream II announced plans Monday for its Palo Duro pipeline from Nolan County north to Wheeler County to connect with multiple interstate pipelines. Producers Midstream is targeting an in-service date for Palo Duro of 2026Q1 depending on authorization from U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

Houston-based Northwind Midstream Partners said recently it received approval from New Mexico Oil Conservation Commission for an additional acid gas injection (AGI) and carbon sequestration well at its Titan treating complex in Lea County, N.M.

COG Operating announced June 27 resolves a contentious dispute between surface estate owners and mineral estate holders “with far reaching implications for the water midstream sector and upstream oil and gas industry.” COG said it owned the produced water and sued, the trial court agreed with COG, and the court of appeals affirmed.

Every year billions of barrels of Produced Water (PW) are generated from oil and gas production around the world. As fields age, they generate higher water to oil ratios. In some mature fields, 10 barrels of water are generated for every barrel of oil produced. Operators worked together to form consortiums for sharing water.
