Prior to joining Wood in 2020, Darren held senior roles at Worley and Amec Foster Wheeler, where he successfully delivered major projects including the EPC of a 2,200-tonne topsides compression module for the Britannia long-term compression project, and the Buzzard Phase II project alliance – delivering a 600-tonne module for topsides EPC scope.

This contract follows another major contract from Woodside for the Trion development to the SLB OneSubsea joint venture in 2023, which includes subsea horizontal trees, controls and topside equipment. Manufacturing is currently on track. Woodside is developing the field in partnership with Pemex. First production is targeted in 2028.

McDermott is delivering design, fabrication, integration, transportation and installation of an approximately 30 000 t topside and 37 000 t hull structure, making it the largest floating production facility the company has ever designed and built, and one of the largest semi-submersible production platforms built in offshore history.
