As a result of the progress to date, ReconAfrica has accelerated the spud date for Prospect I to Q2 2025. “We have made great progress in getting Prospect I ready to drill and, as a result, we are accelerating the spud date into Q2 2025, said Brian Reinsborough, President and CEO of ReconAfrica.
TotalEnergies finished drilling Tamboti-1X and spudded Marula-1X, both explorationwells in block 2913B - which contains the Venus discovery - on the Namibian side of the offshore Orange Basin.
Prospect I is located onshore Namibia in Petroleum Exploration Licence 073 (“PEL73”) and is the Company’s largest prospect to be drilled so far. The results of the Naingopo explorationwell announced in January 2025 increased our confidence in the potential for Prospect I.
