This has caused regulating agencies to cut back on permitted disposal volumes in Seismic Response Areas (SRA) and in some cases to shut down permitted disposal entirely. Disposing of this excess PW is leading to seismic activity in several regions that has resulted in curtailment and sometimes shutdown of SWD facilities.
